British duo Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier saw their run at the Swiss Open end in semi-final defeat to Indonesian top seeds Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir.
The world number 14s, the leading contenders to represent Great Britain at London 2012, were beaten 21-19 16-21 21-13 in Basle.
Despite the loss, the Anglo-Scottish pair are guaranteed another rise in the world rankings, putting them further ahead of British rivals Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork in the Olympic race.
