Qais Ashfaq


About Qais

Born in Leeds, Qais Ashfaq was a competitor at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games where he won the gold medal in his weight class. He also won the bantamweight class at the 2012 GB Amateur Boxing Championships.

Since then, he competed in the men's bantamweight division at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won silver, and at the inaugural 2015 European Games where he won bronze.

At Rio 2016, Ashfaq lost his opening bout to Thailand's Chatchai Butdee and went on to turn professional in July 2017.
