This Week in Olympic Sport: October 28-November 3

Wednesday marks exactly 100 days to go until the Sochi 2014 Winter Games officially begin as we give a flavour of the Olympic sport taking place this week.

The latest Sochi 2014 milestone dominates the week with qualification for the XXII Olympic Winter Games due to hot up in the coming weeks across a host of sports.

Sticking with a winter theme, the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series travels from North America to the Far East with Beijing set to host the third leg.

A little closer to home and we have the opening track cycling World Cup of the season set to take place in Manchester with Britain primed to deliver success.

Double Olympic champion Laura Trott heads up Britain’s charge having not long returned from the European Championships in Apeldoorn with two titles.

She won team pursuit and omnium gold in the Netherlands with fellow Olympic champions Dani King, Joanna Rowsell, Ed Clancy, Jason Kenny, Phil Hindes and Steven Burke also in action.
