This Week in Olympic Sport: November 18-24

Eve Muirhead and David Murdoch will be looking to lay down a marker to their European rivals this week as we give a flavour of the next seven days of Olympic sports.

Muirhead and Murdoch will lead their respective women’s and men’s Scottish rinks as the European Curling Championships begin in Stavanger in Norway.

Both have been chosen to represent Team GB at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics in February with these Europeans the last major test on the road to the Games.

Meanwhile it’s important that Lee Jackson and Kevin Kane get off to a fine start in the biathlon World Cup series, which also gets underway in Oestersund in Sweden.

Both have an equal number of Olympic qualifying standards with there only one British place at Sochi 2014 while the luge World Cup moves from Lillehammer to Igls.

There’s also figure skating in Moscow in the form of the Rostelecom Cup and the start of the ski jumping World Cup in Klingenthal while the Laser World Championships in sailing continue in Oman.
