East London well and truly came alive again as the one-year anniversary of last year’s Olympics was celebrated at the weekend.

The Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games took centre stage at the weekend with two days of Olympic action followed by an afternoon of the best Paralympic track and field athletes.
But it is Britain’s pool swimmers mainly in the spotlight this week with Sunday marking the opening day of the World Championships in Barcelona.
And, with no medals for Britain so far across the aquatic disciplines, eyes turn to Bill Furniss’ troops to deliver some podium finishes.
