Chris Froome extended his lead at the Tour de France, which comes to a conclusion on Sunday, while, three days after the British team is announced for the IAAF World Championships, several will be in action at the Monaco Diamond League.

The FINA World Championships get underway with diving, water polo and synchronised and open water swimming and the globe’s finest taekwondo players gather in Mexico with Olympic champion Jade Jones in action.

The Modern Pentathlon European Championships continue in Poland, Hamburg hosts the sixth leg of the ITU World Triathlon Series and Britain’s up-and-coming stars officially get underway at the European Youth Olympic Festival.
