After yet another positive weekend for Britain’s winter athletes on the road to Sochi 2014 attentions turn to freestyle skier James Woods as we give a flavour of the sport of the next seven days.
Skeleton slider Lizzy Yarnold is the in-form Brit ahead of February’s Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and so is bobsleigh pilot John Jackson after his stunning World Cup silver in Lake Placid.
And, after a sixth on the Dew Tour, freestyle ski slopestyle specialist Woods returns to World Cup action in Copper Mountain after winning silver himself at the season opener in New Zealand.
That comes as part of a trio of freestyle ski World Cups with Innichen in Italy and Beijing in China also playing host to action while there’s also snowboarding in Copper Mountain too.
Snowboardcross descends on Lake Louise in Canada, Nordic combined in Schonach in Germany and ski jumping in Engelberg and Hinterzarten.
There’s a cross-country skiing sprint World Cup in Asiago while alpine skiing takes in Courchevel, Val d’Isere, Val Gardena and Alta Badia.
And, after picking up eight medals at the European Short Course Swimming Championships, Britain join forces with the rest of the continent to take on USA at the Duel in the Pool in Manchester.
