This Week in Olympic Sport: April 8 to 13

Three of the Olympics core summer sports take centre stage this week with athletics, cycling and swimming all on the cards as we take a look at what’s happening between now and Sunday.

The London Marathon descends on the streets of the capital with Mo Farah set to compete across the full 26.2-mile distance for the first time after running half of that last year.

Cycling’s Paris Roubaix takes place on the same day in France while before then the British Swimming Championships head outside England for the first time and begin on Thursday.

Glasgow’s Commonwealth pool at Tollcross will host six days of action spreading into next week with places at this summer’s Games up for grabs for those in attendance.

And, finally, there is also the continuation of the European Weightlifting Championships and Commonwealth Water Polo Championships in Tel Aviv and Aberdeen respectively.
