Walker edges up bobsleigh World Cup standings

Former world junior champions Paula Walker and Rebekah Wilson secured a top eight finish at the women's bobsleigh World Cup in Utah.

The first choice British crew finished 1.15 seconds behind winners, Americans Elana Meyers and Aja Evans over two runs in Park City.

US sleds dominated taking three of the first four positions with Canada's Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse preventing the clean sweep in second ahead of Jamie Greubel and Katie Aberling.

After two races Walker is now ranked eighth overall in the World Cup standings and declared herself satisfied with the performance, which she will have a chance to improve in the third round on Saturday.

Meanwhile, British team-mates Victoria Olaoye and Kelly Denyer and Mica O'Neill and Gillian Cooke - who are bidding to qualify a second sled to next year's Olympics - ranked 18th and 19th respectively.

And John Jackson continued his comeback from injury, finishing 24th in the men's two man event alongside Stuart Benson.
