Like a host of other sports, alpine skiing’s qualification period for Sochi 2014 opened in July 2012 and closes on January 19 2014.
At the very top level, the World Cup series continues to gather pace on the road to the Olympic Winter Games with Europe hosting all events until Sochi.
After a spell in Canada and America, Italy, France, Austria, Germany, Croatia and traditional alpine nation Switzerland will all act as hosts prior to January 19.
The Europa Cup also runs up to Sochi and beyond and which could feature such Brits as Dave Ryding, Dougie Crawford and TJ Baldwin.
The World Cup series continues past January 19 with events taking place as close to a week before the start of Sochi 2014.
