After a quiet day today, the action at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games comes thick and fast for Team GB on Thursday. There are 18 athletes set to compete across five different sports.

Britain’s women’s rink of skip Eve Muirhead, Anna Sloan, Vicki Adams and Claire Hamilton will aim to bounce back from defeat to Canada against China tomorrow.

They lost a tight contest with Canada 9-6 and have a record of one win and two losses while David Murdoch, Greg Drummond, Scott Andrews and Michael Goodfellow take on the USA following their win over European champions Switzerland.

James Woods is the last of the British athletes to compete in slopestyle in Sochi with the men’s ski event scheduled for tomorrow.

He was last year’s World Cup champion and a silver medallist at the World Championships but is carry a hip injury after a fall in practice at the Games.

SKELETON, WOMEN’S Sanki Sliding Centre Runs One & Two 11.30-13.20 (local) 07.30-09.20 (UK)

World Cup champion Lizzy Yarnold and world champion Shelley Rudman kick off Britain’s charge in the skeleton after several days spent practicing on the track.

The first two of four runs will be staged tomorrow with Yarnold impressive in practice as Britain bid for a fourth successive women’s skeleton medal at the Winter Olympics.

SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATING, WOMEN’S 500M & MEN’S 1000M Iceberg Skating Palace 14.00-16.30 (local) 10.00-12.30 (UK)

Short track returns tomorrow with Elise Christie and Charlotte Gilmartin competing in the 500m quarter-finals, with a place in the semis and final later in the evening their target.

Gilmartin is in quarter-final one and Christie quarter-final two while all the five-strong British team will be in action, as the men’s 1000m heats also take place.

Jon Eley has been drawn in the first heat, Olympic debutant Richard Shoebridge the third and Jack Whelbourne the fifth, as he bids to make his second final in Sochi.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING, WOMEN’S 10KM CLASSICAL Laura Cross Country Ski and Biathlon Center 14.00-15.40 (local) 10.00-11.40 (UK)

Olympic newcomer Posy Musgrave also returns to action in the women’s 10km classic after just missing out on the knockout stages of the sprint, placing 42nd. She needed to be in the top 30 to advance.

BIATHLON, MEN’S 20KM INDIVIDUAL Laura Cross Country Ski and Biathlon Center 18.00-20.20 (local) 14.00-16.20 (UK)

Lee Jackson will race in his second event of the Games in the men’s 20km individual. Jackson placed 67th in the 10km sprint on Saturday, missing out on the top 60 that competed in the 12.5km pursuit two days later.
