Jonathan Phillips insists he and his Great Britain Ice Hockey team-mates will go all out as they bid for World Championship promotion next month.
Great Britain will face hosts Lithuania, Croatia, Netherlands, Poland and Romania in a six-team tournament between April 20-26 to determine who gets to climb the international ladder.
In preparation Doug Christiansen’s side will face Netherlands in Sheffield on Saturday April 12, and then again in Coventry 24 hours later.
And Sheffield Steelers forward Phillips believes this warm up matches will prove crucial when they arrive in Lithuania.
“It is fantastic that we have so much preparation for this important tournament,” he said.
“It was a disappointment to get relegated last year but that is behind us now.
“We can only look to the future and we are going there by being the most prepared we have been for a while.
“We have a fantastic coaching, management and back room staff, who will make sure we prepare in the best possible way.
“The spirit in the GB camp has been fantastic for years and I know it will be no different this time.
“We know what we have to achieve and we are very determined and focused.”
