Take a quick glance down the past winners of the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and you’ll be greeted by some of British sport’s biggest names.

As part of the women’s all-around team she claimed bronze along with sister Becky as well as finishing fourth in the vault and sixth in the floor.
Ellie will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Claudia Fragapane after watching her teammate lift the award last year.
As well as success of the world stage Ellie also won bronze in the European all-around final and became the first woman to win an individual all-around medal in her first year as a senior.
With the achievements of Jessica Ennis-Hill and Katarina Johnson-Thompson the talents of Morgan Lake might have gone under the radar for some.
But at 18 the heptathlete looks set to continue the dominance of Britain’s women in multi-sports events.
At the start of the year Lake jumped 1.94m at the British Indoor Championships to finish second in the high jump and claim a European Junior Record.
She followed that stellar showing with a ninth-place finish in the pentathlon at the European Indoor Championships in Prague.
She was crowned European Junior champion in the high jump before heading to Beijing to compete at the World Championships.
Diver Matty Lee highlighted his potential with gold in the 10m individual platform at the inaugural European Games in Baku.
The 17-year-old has already been named at Leeds’ Young Sportsman of the Year after success in Azerbaijan.
On top of his European exploits Lee also took gold in the 10m synchro at the British Championships and bronze in the 10m platform.
With his sights set on Rio the youngster is accumulating plenty of experience after taking part in his first World Championships where he placed ninth and 18
.
For freestyle skier Molly Summerhayes the new season is just about to begin and she will be looking to build on a series of standout performances last term.
The 17-year-old from Sheffield is the younger sister of Sochi Olympian Katie Summerhayes and made her World Cup and World Championship debuts last season.
She took 11th place in both as well as producing a superb performance to take the halfpipe title at the FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships in Italy.
Rebekah Tiler has been weightlifting for four years but has already accumulated plenty of accolades.
This year she was chosen as the flag bearer for Team England at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa where she went on to win gold.
That came after winning European youth gold and silver at junior level as well as silver at the Youth World Championships while most recently she was 13th in the final of the World Championships in America.
