Skip Kyle Smith had no complaints after his bid to retain the World Junior Curling Championship title was ended in the final by Switzerland’s Yannick Schwaller.
Smith and his rink of Thomas Muirhead – the younger brother of Olympic bronze medallist Eve – Kyle Waddell and Cameron Smith fell 6-5 in the gold medal match.
The exact same quartet had returned from last year’s World Junior Championships in the Olympic host city of Sochi with gold but there was to be no repeat.
Silver still caps a fine past two weeks for curling in Britain with David Murdoch adding silver to Eve Muirhead’s bronze at the Winter Olympics in Russia.
And Smith said: "We didn't play our best by any means. You can't take anything from them, they played very well."
