King and Dibben miss podium at track cycling World Cup

Dani King and Jon Dibben failed to add to Great Britain's medal tally at track cycling's UCI World Cup in Guadalajara.

Olympic and world team pursuit champion King was fourth in the omnium heading into the final three events but a fifth in the individual pursuit, fourth in the scratch race and 16th in the time-trial left the 23-year-old on 42 points, 17 back from bronze medallist, France's Laurie Berthon.

Dibben, 19, went closer but seventh in the individual pursuit and scratch race followed by fifth in the time-trial left him on 32 points, two adrift of France’s Thomas Boudat.

It meant Great Britain, who selected a youthful team for the event, finished three days of competition with three bronze medals.
