Laura Kenny claimed her second UCI Track World Cup gold of the weekend on Sunday in the omnium to round off a memorable weekend for Great Britain in Canada.
Kenny, 26, took gold in the women’s team pursuit on Friday and backed that up on her own in the omnium.
Twice an Olympic champion in the event, Kenny showed no signs of rust in her first World Cup outing since January 2016 as Mexico’s Lizbeth Salazar finished second and USA’s Jennifer Valente third.
Kenny gave birth to her first child Albert in August 2017 and returned to the track in March of this year and appears to be back to somewhere approaching her best.
"To say I was nervous would have been an understatement. My first World Cup in the new format," Kenny said on Instagram.
"It took me a couple of events to find my feet and to get used to racing at this level again but once I did I felt more and more like my old self and by the points race I started to really enjoy it."
The final evening also saw Ollie Wood and Mark Stewart win the final sprint to claim silver in the Madison.
Kenny’s husband Jason also topped the podium in the men’s keirin for his first World Cup gold of the season.
In total Great Britain claimed eight medals in Milton – an improvement on their six in the World Cup curtain raiser in France earlier this month.
