Great Britain's Helen Jenkins finished fifth in the Olympic triathlon as Nicola Spirig of Switzerland won gold in a sprint finish ahead of Lisa Norden.
Jenkins was in a leading pack of five on the 10km run before being dropped by Spirig, Norden, Australia's Erin Densham and Sarah Groff of the United States in the closing stages.
Spiring and Norden then sprinted for the line and could only be separated by a photo finish and Erin Densham took bronze ahead of Groff.
Jenkins had been in 10th place after the swim phase and was lying 12th after the bike phase.
