Hill and Scott take World Cup Final golds

European Games champion Amber Hill ended the year on a high as two British shooters claimed gold at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup Final in Cyprus.

The skeet shooter joined Steve Scott in the double trap, taking gold at the event which sees the year's top performers go head to head.

Hill shot an impressive 15/16 in the semi-final to progress to the gold medal match against Sutiya Jiewchaloemmit.

"To come away with a gold is an amazing end to the year and I couldn't have asked for a lot more," she said.

"Qualifying for the World Cup Final is a big achievement for me in itself so to come away with a gold medal from it, I couldn't have ended the season any better."

Elsewhere, Scott shot 29/30 in his semi-final before shooting 27/30 in the final to get the better of Qiang Pan.

"Watching Amber win hers made me realise it's possible to go all the way. I'm really, really pleased," said Scott.

"This was my first competition since winning the quota place at Gabala so I'm really pleased to come away and nail the gold.

"We're the only double trap team to qualify for every final in an Olympic cycle year."
