Godley and Perdue all set to get Britain going at worlds

Emily Godley and Natasha Perdue are all set to kick-start Britain’s charge at the World Weightlifting Championships in Wroclaw according to performance director Tommy Yule.

English champion Godley and British champion Perdue are the first Brits in action in Poland in the 63kg and 69kg categories respectively with Jack Oliver set ro follow a day later.

Perdue and Oliver were both part of the British team at the London 2012 Olympics last summer with the latter set to lift in the 85kg category in Wroclaw.

And British Weight Lifting performance director Yule reflected the positive mood in the British camp as they get set to make their mark.

He said: “It’s a great set-up for the lifters here in Poland. Everyone has prepared well and is looking forward to competing.”
