GB set for France test

Great Britain have avoided top seeds Russia but will face last year's bronze medallists France in the 2013 EuroBasket Women after the draw was held in Paris.

Britain, who were in the second pot of seeds alongside Croatia, Italy and the Slovakia, will also face Serbia and Latvia in Group C.

The draw means Tom Maher's Great Britain side will once again be pitted against Olympic silver medallists France in their quest for the European title.

The GB team finished without a win at this summer's Games but came close to beating France after a competitive performance and will be hoping to match their achievement from last year and reach the second round in the tournament.

Reigning European champions Russia have been drawn against Spain, Italy and Sweden in Group B.

The competition will be held from June 15-30 in France with Great Britain set to face Serbia in their first game.
