British Gymnastics have appointed Amanda Reddin as head coach for the women's artistic gymnastics programme.
Reddin, who competed at the 1984 Games and coached Beth Tweddle to European, world and Olympic success across four cycles, succeeds former technical director Adrian Stan, who is taking charge of high-performance coach development.
Her first job when she takes up the post on November 1 will be to assemble a coaching team for the 2013 European Championships in Moscow in April.
"I'm excited to take on the challenge of continuing the great legacy left by Adrian Stan," said Reddin, who has been a Team GB coach at four Olympic Games.
As coach at the City of Liverpool Gymnastics Club, Reddin led them to multiple British team titles, while progressing gymnasts such as Tweddle, Hannah Whelan, Jennifer Pinches, Emma Williams and Aisling Williams to compete at world level for Great Britain.
British Gymnastics Olympic performance director Tim Jones added: "Amanda's knowledge of the system that had been put in place to put our British programme in the top tier of the world is second to none, but she also has a clear vision of the direction we now need to move forward in order to challenge for Olympic medals on a regular basis."
