Six-time Olympic champion Jason Kenny headlines Great Britain's squad for their home Track Cycling World Cup as London prepares to host for the first time since 2014.
The 30-year-old is among five Olympic gold medallists set to compete at the Lee Valley VeloPark when the third Track World Cup of the season gets under way in December.
Kenny will be joined by Phil Hindes, Ryan Owens and Joe Truman in the men’s sprint as Britain look to add to the 15 medals that they won across the first two rounds of the series in Paris and Milton, which saw them take overall team victory at both.
Four-time Olympic champion Laura Kenny leads the list of women’s endurance riders, joined by Katie Archibald, Ellie Dickinson, Neah Evans and sisters Elinor and Meg Barker.
After securing gold in the team pursuit at the 2018 Track World Championships, Ethan Hayter lines up alongside Will Tidball, Ethan Vernon, Matt Walls and Fred Wright in the men’s endurance team.
And with London hosting its first Track World Cup event in four years, performance director Stephen Park is excited for the riders to put on a show for the partisan crowds that witnessed an historic Olympic Games at London 2012.
“The home World Cup is something our track cyclists look forward to year-on-year, and to have it at the iconic Lee Valley VeloPark where so many historic memories have been made makes it an extra special experience for our riders,” he said.
“I’m really looking forward to having the home crowd getting behind us and cheering us on in force as we look to build on the momentum we have gathered in previous events of this Olympic qualifying period.
“This is a historic moment for the Great Britain Cycling Team as we have riders from both our able-bodied and para-cycling squads competing at the same event.
