Double defeat as GB wait on Lenzly

Great Britain basketball team fielded only a shadow side as they lost their final two warm-up games ahead of the Olympics this weekend.

Luol Deng, Joel Freeland, Dan Clark and Robert Archibald all sat out the 79-56 defeat to Belgium, along with guard Mike Lenzly who has had a scan on a worrying calf injury that could affect his availability for the Games.

In their absence, Pops Mensah-Bonsu led Britain with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Eric Boateng had 12 points and 15 boards.

On Saturday, Britain lost 73-69 to Tunisia, with Deng and and Freeland getting the night off.

Mensah-Bonsu was the leading scorer then too with 21 points, while Clark and Ogo Adegboye had 13 each.

Lenzly was hurt in Thursday night's 118-78 loss to the United States in Manchester, managing a little under three minutes before exiting having started the contest.

Adegboye, who was the final man cut from the Games squad, has remained with the team throughout their preparations and played both on Thursday and this weekend.

He would be in line to replace Lenzly if the scan shows his injury to be serious.
