Daley, Laugher and Reid in GB team for London leg

Jack Laugher and Tom Daley are set to lead a 10-strong British team for the London leg of the 2020 Diving World Series next month as preparation continues for Tokyo 2020.

Olympic gold medallist Laugher is set to compete in the 3m springboard and 3m synchro, alongside Dan Goodfellow. The duo won gold and silver respectively in last year’s event.

Meanwhile, Daley will be in triple action at the London Aquatics Centre, where he won a bronze medal eight years ago at London 2012, as he competes in the 10m platform, 10m synchro and mixed 3m synchro events.

The Plymouth diver won gold in both synchro events last May alongside Matty Lee and Grace Reid, who will both accompany him at this year’s event.

Reid will also be busy in London, contesting in the women's 3m springboard, women’s 3m synchro and mixed 3m dynchro competitions, with Kat Torrance competing alongside Reid in the latter event.

Goodfellow, a bronze medallist from Rio, says his silver medal in last year’s competition ranks up there with his career highlights as he looks to build up momentum ahead of Tokyo 2020.

“The individual medal I won at the Diving World Series in London last year is up there with my personal career highlights,” said Goodfellow.

“Diving World Series this year in London will be the last time you can watch the world’s best divers in action before we finalise our preparation leading into the Olympic Games. The atmosphere and support last year was amazing and I look forward to competing in front of a home crowd again”

London will play host to the World Series finale from March 27-29, after stops in Montreal and Kazan.
