Double Olympic bronze medallist Tom Daley picked up his fourth successive silver with partner Grace Reid in the fourth and final FINA Diving World Series event in Kazan on Sunday.

Daley and Reid were second in the mixed 3m Synchro Springboard competition with a score of 317.70 points – a season’s best in the four-event series.

Canada’s Jennifer Abel and Francois Imbeau-Dulac took gold with 324.96 points while the podium was completed by the German pair of Tina Punzel and Lou Massenberg (306.00).

“We are very happy to collect four silvers in the 2018 FINA Diving World Series,” said Reid, who won gold in the 1 metre springboard at this year’s Commonwealth Games.

Daley did not take part in the individual program in Kazan as he continues to monitor a hip injury which restricted his participation on the Gold Coast.

But it was a particularly successful weekend for Reid as she also picked up bronze in the women’s 3m springboard synchro with partner Katherine Torrance.

The British pair scored 289.29 to take the final step on the podium behind Shi Tingmao and Chang Yani of China (316.20) and Canada’s Abel and Melissa Citrini Beaulieu.

Britain picked up seven medals across the four events with the season opener in Beijing their most fruitful event with three medals.

As well as Daley and Reid’s silver, Daley picked up bronze with Dan Goodfellow in the 10m synchro while Matt Lee and Lois Toulson won bronze in the mixed 10m Synchro.

Daley and Reid picked up three further silvers in Fuji, Montreal and Kazan with Torrance and Reid completing the Series with their first bronze in Russia. Sportsbeat 2018
