Great Britain volleyball coach Harry Brokking has named a 16-strong squad for the summer as he looks to put together his Olympic party.
The veteran Dutch tactician and assistant Joel Banks have been monitoring the 27 British players that have been based overseas throughout the winter, and pulled together a squad for a still-to-be-announced fixture schedule based on that evidence.
Peter Bakare is amongst the 16 despite some doubts over his inclusion, while Jason Haldane returns.
The 40-year-old Canada-born outside was omitted from the squad a year ago in order to give Dami Bakare a chance to impress in that position.
He did just that, proving to be arguably the best player from any competing nation at last summer's test event at Earls Court, meaning Haldane's inclusion is mainly based on experience.
Danny Weemes returns after a two-year absence having done well for Swedish side Hylte, while Oli Kimber recives a maiden call-up following some strong performances for Dutchside Langhenkel.
The squad, which will again be led by 111-cap Ben Pipes, will regroup in Sheffield next month, with British Volleyball set to announce a fixture schedule that will prepare the team for the Olympics in the coming days.
