British dressage 'dream team' reunited for Europeans

Double Olympic champion Charlotte Dujardin will lead a full-strength British team into next month's dressage European Championships in Herning.

Dujardin will be joined by Carl Hester and Laura Tomlinson, who were members of the gold medal winning team at London 2012.

International newcomer Michael Eilberg completes the quartet, in what will be the last major championship for Tomlinson's much medalled horse Mistral Hojris.

"It will be amazing to have Carl, Laura and I back together again and it’s exciting to have a new member in Michael," said Dujardin.

"It’s been a rollercoaster year but it will be great to have a focus now and I can’t wait to compete."

But British team performance manager Will Connell knows repeating last summer's success won't be easy, highlighting Germany, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands as key rivals.

“It’s always an honour to be selected to ride for your country and I’m excited the ‘dream team’ will be back together to do what we did last year and keep up our unbeaten record," added Tomlinson.
