The World Cup season, which will help decide the specifics of the start lists for Sochi 2014, is well underway and seven races would have been run by the time the Olympic qualification period ends on January 19.
For the men’s events a maximum of three nations can have three crews per event at the Games while a maximum of six can have two crews – five nations will have one crew.
In the two-woman two nations can have a maximum three crews, four can have a maximum two and three will have one crew with the World Cup series having taken in North America and Europe by January 19.
There was a double race for the two-woman crews at Park City last time out while the same applies to the two-man at the forthcoming Lake Placid leg and then the four-man at the Winterberg leg at the turn of the year.
St Moritz and Igls also play host to World Cups prior to the ending of the Olympic qualification period with one scheduled before the start of the Games in Koenigssee a week later.
