Biography

Ross Davenport competed at the Beijing 2008 First Olympic appearance was in Athens where he was part of the 4x200m Freestyle relay team which finished fourth in a new British record 7mins 12.60secs. At the 2009 World Championships Davenport placed 10th in the 200m freestlye and was also a member of the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle relay teams which placed sixth and eighth respectively. Won relay silver at the 2006 European Championships as the British quartet lowered the record by almost a second. davenport had taken gold at the same event in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, where he also took individual 200m gold. Davemport swims for City of Derby and is coached by Ian Turner. He supports Derby County Football Club.Ross Davenport followed his older brother, Ashley, into swimming but would have equally liked to have pursued a career as a footballer. He made his senior international debut at the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona.
