Biography

Matthew Daly made his Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The mens team won their fifth/sixth place classification match against Korea to place fifth in the tournament. Daly was also a member of England mens hockey squad which won gold at the 2009 EuroHockey Championhips. Daly has been a member of the England squad since making his debut in the opening test against South Africa in January 2005, a game in which he also scored his first international goal. Daly has over 90 international caps to his name and has represented England at one World Cup, a Commonwealth Games and three European Championships. He scored four times during Great Britain’s successful Olympic qualification campaign in Chile. Daly works as a hockey coach.
