Lee Merrien recorded a personal best time to finish top Brit at the 2012 London Marathon but was initially overlooked for selection onto the Olympic team.Merrien’s plight was the subject of an online campaign, with 3,000 signing a Facebook page urging selectors to reconsider, which they later did.
