Jonathan Clarke made his Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The mens team won their fifth/sixth place classification match against Korea to place fifth in the tournament. Clarke was a member of England mens hockey squad which won gold at the 2009 EuroHockey Championhips. Clarke is a regular member of the England squad since making his debut against Belgium in February 2002, Clarke has won over 100 international caps and has appeared at a World Cup, a Commonwealth Games and three European Championships. Clarke who plays for Reading and has had an impressive set of achievements at club level, having two won silvers and a gold at the European Club Championships, in addition to five Premier League titles and three EuroHockey Cups. Clarke’s father Richard is England’s highest capped indoor player, with 82 caps between 1976 & 1987, and also a former captain of the national indoor side.
