Jessica Varnish made her senior debut at the 2008 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Manchester, going on to win a silver medal in 2011 in the team sprint, as well as bronze in the time trial in 2012 and in the team sprint in 2014.

In 2012, she won gold in the women’s team sprint with her partner Victoria Pendleton at the UCI Track Cycling World Cup, breaking the world record.

At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Varnish and Pendleton smashed their world record again in the qualifying stages of the team sprint while in 2014 she won double Commonwealth Games bronze for England in the time trial and sprint.
