Biography

Ellen Gandy was first selected for GB in 2003. She made her Olympic debut at the Biejing 2008 Olympic Games were she placed 15th in the 200m Butterfly. As a junior she won 5 golds at 2005 European Youth Olympics. Gandy made her senior debut at the Japan International meet in China in 2007. The European Championships 2008 were her first major championships where she won silver as part of the 4x200m freestyle relay team Gandy's biggest passion is art.Ellen Gandy was the youngest member of the British swimming team at Beijing 2008 and broke the British 100m butterfly record in winning gold at the Olympic trials in March. Gandy has been based in Australia since 2007.
