Born in Chatham, Ashley Jackson was always going to involved with hockey of some sort as his grandfather and uncle played ice hockey.

He made his Olympic debut at Beijing 2008 as the men’s hockey team finished fifth in the tournament, while they improved to fourth four years later in London. 

Ashley was a member of the England squad which claimed gold at the 2009 EuroHockey Championships and also picked up a bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Jackson became the first Englishman to win hockey's world young player of the year in 2009 and has also followed his relatives on to the ice by playing ice hockey in the English National League.
