Ashley Jackson made his Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The mens team won their fifth/sixth place classification match against Korea to place fifth in the tournament. Jackson was a member of England mens hockey squad which won gold at the 2009 EuroHockey Championhips. Jackson made his England debut in November 2006 against the Netherlands, before going on to play in his first senior international tournament at the EuroHockey Nations Championships in Manchester in 2007. Jackson burst onto the Great Britain scene, first as part of the youth side that won Silver at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival, and then making his debut once more against the Netherlands. Jackson was also a member of the GB squad that secured Olympic qualification by beating India in Chile. He currently plays for Dutch side HGC. Jackson was also a very promising cricketer and ice hockey player when younger.
